湘湖位于杭州市萧山区西南部，历史上湘湖曾被称为西湖的姊妹湖。然而近百年来，由于自然和人为的影响，湘湖大部分水面被填埋，水域面积减少，到21世纪初，湘湖已几近消亡。

Xianghu Lake is located in the southwest of Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou. However, in the past hundred years, due to the influence of nature and human behavior, most of the water surface of Xianghu Lake has been landfill, and the water area has been reduced. By the beginning of the 21st century, Xianghu Lake had almost died out.

多义景观分别于2004赢得了湘湖一期的规划竞标。湘湖一期于2006年建成，规划面积4.6km2，恢复水面1.6km2，形成了湘湖北部的自然质朴的面貌。

In 2004, Atelier DYJG won the first phase of Xianghu planning bidding. And the first phase was completed in 2006, with a planned area of 4.6 square kilometers, restoring water surface 1.6 square kilometers, forming the natural simplicity of the northern part of Xianghu Lake.

2008年，多义景观赢得了湘湖二期的规划竞标。湘湖二期于2010年建成，二期面积5.9 km2，恢复水域2.1 km2。二期规划充分考虑与湘湖一期区块以及未来的湘湖三期区块的联系和协调，通过恢复历史水域建立了优美的山水景观空间，为满足生态休闲的目标奠定了基础。

In 2008, Atelier DYJG won the second phase of Xianghu planning bidding. Xianghu Phase II was completed in 2010, with an area of 5.9 square kilometers, 2.1 square kilometers of restored water. The second phase planning fully considers the connection and coordination with the first phase and the third phase of Xianghu Lake in the future, and establishes Picturesque landscape space through restoration of historical waters region, which lays a foundation for meeting the goal of ecological leisure.

2013年，多义景观又赢得了湘湖三期的规划竞标，并被委托，完成了湘湖三期的修建性详细规划。湘湖三期面积6.6km2，北与湘湖一、二期贯通，西与钱塘江相连，具有通江连湖的作用。三期建成后，湘湖将形成完整的水面和山水风景。同时三期也是城市与自然、人工风景与自然风景的过渡地带，是城市生活与自然体验的过渡地带。湘湖三期在延续了一、二期风景特征的基础上，承担起更多的城市综合功能，并使得整个湘湖具有景观、文化、功能和生态的多样性与丰富性。湘湖三期将于2016年初步建成。

In 2013, Atelier DYJG won the third phase of Xianghu planning bidding, and was commissioned to complete the construction of the third phase of Xianghu detailed planning. Xianghu Phase III has an area of 6.6 square kilometers, with an outstanding function of connecting rivers and lakes, which connects Xianghu Phase I and II in the north, and Qiantang River in the west. After the completion of phase III, Xianghu Lake will form a complete water surface and landscape scenery. At same time, the third phase is also the transition zone between city and nature, artificial and natural scenery, and the transition zone between urban life and natural experience. On the basis of continuing the landscape features of the phase I and II, phase III of Xianghu contains more comprehensive functions of urban life and the diversity and richness of landscape, culture, function and ecology. The third phase of Xianghu Lake will be initially completed in 2016.

自2004年后，多义景观经过10余年的规划设计和施工现场协调，使得已湮灭的历史名湖再现于人间天堂杭州，并为湘湖新城的建设打下了最坚实的基础。

After more than 10 years of planning, designing and coordinating on the construction site since 2004, the nearly vanished historical lake has been reemerged in Hangzhou, the paradise on earth, and became the most solid foundation for the construction of the New City of Xianghu lake.
