新加坡花园节是亚洲最著名的花园节之一。我们受到邀请在2012年的新加坡花园节上设计一个“梦幻花园”。这个设计是一个室内的临时花园装置，我们希望在有限的面积内表现出中国花园的空间变化和诗意，给人们带来心灵的宁静和感悟。
The Singapore Garden Festival is one of the most famous garden festivals in Asia. We were invited to design a "dream garden" for the Singapore Garden Festival 2012. This design is an indoor temporary garden installation. We hope to show the spatial variation and poetry of Chinese gardens within a limited area, and bring people peace and affection of the heart. -

传统聚落景观反映了人们为了生产和生活改造自然的方式，是一种重要的文化景观。千百年来，楠溪江流域特定的自然地理环境造就了富有个性、和谐优美的传统聚落景观，并较完整地保留至今。这些景观，包括聚落与自然环境的关系、水系的整理、农地与居住地的布局、村落公共空间的类型和系统、家庭庭院的类型和布局，表明了农业社会该地区的人们在利用土地建设家园方面的高超智慧和丰富经验，是古人在风景园林方面的杰出成就。对楠溪江流域传统聚落不同层面的景观类型和特点的研究，以及对其自然和人文的成因的探讨，都会给今天风景园林领域的实践带来启示。
Landscape of traditional settlement reflects the way of remodeling nature for producing and living by the people. It’s an important type of cultural landscape. For a thousand of years, the graceful, harmonious and characteristic landscape of traditional settlements have developed in Nanxi river valley because of its special natural and geographical environment. They remained mostly undamaged over a long period of time. These landscapes, including the relationship between settlements and nature environment, management of water system, spatial layout of farmland and dwelling places, category and system of public spaces, types and layout of domestic gardens, reflect people’s wisdom and experience in land use and homestead construction, even at agricultural era. They are the outstanding achievement of our ancients in landscape architecture in the past. A study in levels on the types and characters of traditional settlement landscape in Nanxi river valley will give inspiration for our practice in landscape architecture today. -

法国的肖蒙城堡国际花园节是艺术性花园节中历史最悠久和最著名的，每年4月-10月在卢瓦尔河畔肖蒙城堡的园林中举办，它的宗旨是要重新唤起公众对花园艺术的关注，展示未来庭院的思想。
The Chaumont-sur-Loire International Garden Festival in France is the oldest and the most famous of the artistic garden festivals. It is held every year from April to October in the Chateau Chaumont-sur-Loire. The purpose of the festival is to rekindle public interest in the garden art and showcase the idea of the future gardens. -

The Story of The Design of Hangzhou Jiangyangfan Ecological Park

杭州江洋畈生态公园是在西湖淤泥库上建设的公园，也是杭州第一个以生态命名的公园。公园的设计和建造面临着巨大的挑战。设计者通过对一个独特的自然生态系统的更新设计，激发它自身的创造力，并通过适当的人工干扰，使之成为一个既保留了原有自然特征、又具有生态多样性的低养护的生态公园，同时提供科学完善的生态教育机会，带来独特的美学体验。
Hangzhou Jiangyang Ecological Park is built on the silt reservoir of the West Lake, and it is also the first park named after “ecological” in Hangzhou. The design and construction of the park faced huge challenges. By a regenerative designing to a unique natural ecosystem, landscape architects stimulate its creativity. And by appropriate human intervention, landscape architects create a low maintenance ecological park that not only represents its original natural characteristics, but also rebuilt a new biodiversity, and simultaneously provides the ecological education opportunity and unique aesthetic experience.

风景园林是人类文明的成果，是文化和历史的载体，反映特定人类社会的文化。风景园林中的文化意味着维护前人的文化遗存和创造今天的有价值的文化。文化景观为我们提供了一个思考风景园林未来的新视点。新的风景园林中的文化不应该局限于对区域历史的再现，还应该是对场地现有文化景观的维护和延续，这样的风景园林文化才是真实的、唯一的。
Landscape architecture is a fruit of human civilization. It’s the vehicle of culture and history and reflects the culture of a certain human society. The culture in the landscape architecture means protecting our cultural heritage from the past and trying to create new culture of outstanding value. Cultural landscape gives us a new perspective on landscape architecture in future. The culture in the new landscape should come from not only reproducing the local history, but also protecting and developing the existing cultural landscape in the site. Such culture in landscape is true and unique.

China`s Botanical Gardens

The boom in China has extended to botanical gardens. With rapid economic and urban development more cities are building new botanical gardens or regenerating exiting ones. Increasing awareness of dwindling plant resources has given a new life to plant conservation and aspects of education as well as recreation are now incorporated into the concepts.
